Registration will be July 6th at 8am at the Antique Boat Museum on Mary St. in Clayton, NY.
The fourth annual Clayton Lions Club Personal Water Craft Poker Run will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2013 and hosted by the world famous Antique Boat Museum at 270 Mary Street in Clayton. The event is a major fundraiser to support the Lions Club’s child eye disease detection program and other community projects.
The poker run comprises traveling a course to five card-pickup stations along the majestic Saint Lawrence River in the 1000 Islands Region. This year participants will be able to chose between traveling the shorter course or a longer course. Click the following link to see a depiction of the course.
This is a family event. There can be up to from one to three individuals on a PWC team, but one member must be twenty-one years of age to claim a cash prize. All participants must possess a valid Safe Boating Certificate for operating a personal watercraft. For your safety, the route will be patrolled by the Coast Guard Auxiliary, US Coast Guard, and an EMT boat. All participants must wear a US Coast Guard approved personal floatation device.
A team may register in advance to ensure a spot by downloading a registration form from this web site, filling it out, and mailing it in along with a check payable to Clayton Lions Club, Attn: John Davis, 41431 Kehoe Tract Rd., Clayton, NY 13624. Team membership can be changed the during the registration period. Alternatively, teams can register on the day of the event Saturday, July 6th. The long-course participants will register from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM. The shorter-course participants will register from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM. The fee to participate is $35.00 (includes lunch). The payout will be $400.00 for the best hand, $200.00 for the second best, $100.00 for third best and $50.00 for the fourth best hand.
There will be a raffle and door prizes awarded to lucky participants at the end of the event. In addition, food and beverages will be available for purchase in the river shed on the of the Antique Boat Museum grounds. All registered PWC poker-run participants will not have to pay the museum admission fee.
All riders will participate at their own risk. Neither the Clayton Lions Club, Lions International, nor any business, organization or government entity are responsible for participant’s actions, accidents and/or injury should it occur.
